The Adobe Premiere app for iOS is now available to download and install on the App Store. The new video editing app was listed for pre-order on September 4th and launched on Monday. The company's new iOS app is free to use, but some features will require a premium subscription. Adobe says the app offers an experience close to the desktop Adobe Premiere software and includes features like a multi-track timeline and dynamic audio waveforms.
Development is also underway for Android.
During the announcement, the company stated that the Adobe Premiere app is a "fast, free, and easy app that puts pro-level creative control in your hands, without the pro-level complexity." iPhone users can now download the app from the App Store. Adobe says an Android version is also in development, but no release date was provided.
The app has a basic interface, with a tutorial at the top and various tools listed below. Some of these tools are labeled 'New from photo library,' 'New from files,' 'New blank project,' and 'Extract audio.'
It also has some artificial intelligence (AI) features that add captions to videos, generate images, create videos from images, and expand images. These features are hidden behind a paywall and require Generative AI credits to use.
Once a project is started, users get the same tools as the desktop version, including a multi-track timeline and options to select dynamic audio waveforms. The app allows users to trim, layer, and fine-tune each frame of the video. There are also options to add video, audio, and text layers, apply stylized subtitles, and support 4K HDR video resolution.
Users can start a project on the mobile app and continue it on the desktop, but free-tier users get limited cloud storage. More storage will require a paid subscription. The Adobe app also offers access to Adobe's full stock asset library.
