West Bengal Teacher Recruitment 2025: Good news for candidates preparing for teacher recruitment. The West Bengal government has announced recruitment for 13,421 teacher positions. State Education Minister Bratya Basu posted on the social media platform Instagram.
The Education Minister wrote on Instagram that the State Primary Education Council will fill these positions on the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He stated that a detailed notification will be issued immediately after Durga Puja, containing all the important information related to the recruitment.
Selection Process
The recruitment notification will contain all the details related to the selection process, educational qualifications, age limit, and application process. The application process is expected to begin after Durga Puja, and online applications will be accepted.
Government Information
According to the government, candidates who have passed the West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) or equivalent qualification will be eligible to apply for these positions. This recruitment drive is aimed at addressing the shortage of teachers in primary and upper primary schools across the state. The state has long been demanding teacher recruitment.

Previously, the West Bengal School Service Commission announced recruitment for 35,726 teaching positions for classes 9th to 12th. The application process continued until July 21st. This recruitment process required a bachelor's degree and a B.Ed. Degree. The maximum age limit for applicants was 40 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit was also granted to reserved categories.
