Apple iPhone 17 launch date confirmed in India

Apple has officially confirmed that its next big event, titled Awe Dropping, will take place in September 2025 at Apple Park, Cupertino. The keynote will be streamed globally on Apple’s website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app. The highlight will be the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup, including the standard model, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and an all-new iPhone 17 Air, designed as the company’s thinnest and lightest smartphone yet. 

Alongside the iPhones, Apple is expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch SE 3, and AirPods Pro 3, plus software updates like iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe. Pricing details across India, the US, Canada, and Dubai are already creating buzz ahead of the official reveal.

The Awe Dropping event is set for Tuesday, 9 September, at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The keynote will begin at 10:30 p.m. IST. While attendance at Apple Park will be limited, viewers worldwide can stream the event live on Apple’s website, YouTube, or the Apple TV app.

iPhone 17 Series expected specifications

Apple is set to introduce the full iPhone 17 range, which includes the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the brand-new iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Air is tipped to be Apple’s slimmest device yet, measuring just 5.5mm, with a 6.6-inch display and a pill-shaped camera design reminiscent of Google’s Pixel phones. All models are expected to feature upgraded cameras. 

The iPhone 17 will reportedly move to a 24-megapixel front camera, doubling the resolution of the iPhone 16’s 12-megapixel selfie lens. The Pro variants are said to include 8x optical zoom and 48-megapixel telephoto sensors, marking a big leap in photography. 

Powered by iOS 26, the new devices will debut the Liquid Glass interface, offering a transparent look alongside light and dark modes. Features such as call screening, live call translation, and a dedicated Games app will also be available.
