Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and country singer Keith Urban have ended their 19-year marriage, sources reported on Monday. The couple, who share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, have reportedly drifted apart due to their demanding careers and a growing lack of intimacy.
"Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour," a source has revealed. "There was a lot of love between the two and they might not divorce. They’ve been together for decades, so there is a world in which they can reconcile, but the way their pairing is now, they are not a couple."
According to insiders, Urban initiated the separation, citing unhappiness in the marriage. "The intimacy isn’t there, they are just going through the motions [of being married].

"If this separation gets them back together, that would be amazing, but Keith had to call her out that he isn’t happy,” the source added to Daily Mail.
Kidman was reportedly “blindsided” by Urban’s decision, though friends say the couple may attempt to work on their relationship over the holiday season and Urban’s upcoming birthday.
Since the split, Kidman has reportedly been staying in Nashville with the children, maintaining family stability while Urban continues his High and Alive World Tour, which began in May.
He is scheduled to perform in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Thursday. TMZ reported that Urban has moved out of the couple’s $4 million Nashville compound and into a separate residence.
Sources also claimed the couple’s increasing time apart following the death of Kidman’s mother last September. "They do make an effort to speak every day when they’re apart, but it is shocking how much time they’ve spent apart," an insider told Woman’s Day.
Glimmers of tension between the pair could be seen publicly in recent months as the pair have not been seen together in public since the beginning of the year, and in July, Urban ended a radio interview abruptly after a question about Kidman’s recent film roles.

Kidman, meanwhile, has spoken openly about the challenges of marriage, telling the cast of her Netflix series The Perfect Couple in September 2024: "There’s no perfect anything. Anything that’s presented as perfect… forget it."
Kidman and Urban met at the G’Day USA Gala in 2005, became engaged in May 2006, and married later that year in Sydney.
Shortly after the wedding, Urban entered rehab for alcohol addiction, crediting Kidman with staging the intervention. "I was very, very blessed to have Nicole stage an intervention for me," he told Rolling Stone in 2014.
Despite the separation, both are said to be continuing to support each other privately, according to reports from TMZ.
Urban recently described seeking Kidman’s feedback on his music, telling Kelly Clarkson: "What I’ve learned is when I play her something, I’m obviously interested in her reaction, but I’m also really interested in how I feel when I’m playing it for her or anybody else. I’ve learned to trust my reaction much more."
