The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the process for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations for the academic year 2025-26. This year, students in Class 10 will have the opportunity to take the board exams twice. The first exam is scheduled for February 2026 and is mandatory for all students, while the second exam in May 2026 will be available only for those wishing to improve their scores or who did not pass the first exam. CBSE has clarified that the first exam will be considered the main examination, and all students will be included in this list. A separate LOC will be filled for the second exam, but no new names or subject changes will be permitted.
Eligibility for Students
Students who are newly enrolled, those appearing for the compartment exam for the second time, and those from the previous year needing to repeat or improve will be eligible to participate in the first exam.
Mandatory for Class 12 Students
CBSE has also requested schools to submit the list of all Class 12 students. However, the examination pattern for Class 12 will remain unchanged. The board has specified that the LOC will only be submitted for students who possess a 12-digit unique ID (Academic Permanent Account Number). This digital identification is essential for students, although foreign schools are exempt from this requirement.
Special Portal for Students with Disabilities
The board has launched a dedicated portal and guidelines for students with special needs (CWSN), allowing them to upload documents and request accommodations.
