Princess Kate's brother, James Middleton, was one of the many guests to attend King Charles' Coronation in 2023. Although not royal themselves, Princess Kate's parents and siblings typically get invited to major royal events as close friends of the Royal Family.
While they are not sitting front row like Kate, 43, often is, they are usually in attendance, and always seem happy to be so too. This was especially the case in 2023, when Kate's family stepped out to watch the King's Coronation at Westminster Abbey.
This included Kate's brother James, who even brought a very unusual item with him to the event.
This item was in memory of his late dog Ella, who died in 2023.
The item which James brought to the Coronation was a small portrait of Ella, who James claims saved his life when he was battling depression.
As reported by GB News, James, 38, once said: "My friend, the artist Holly Frean, painted a tiny portrait of her, no bigger than a postage stamp.
"I bring it with me to meaningful occasions: she's been to the King's Coronation and Wimbledon and was even present at Inigo's birth."
Although they are not royals themselves, it is believed Kate's family are very supportive of the future Queen and the rest of the Royal Family.
They are believed to have got on very well with the late Queen Elizabeth II, and share equally warm relationships with King Charles - Kate's father-in-law.
This was evident this year when Kate's mum Carole, 70, was seen watching the races at Royal Ascot with King Charles, having greeted each other warmly and shared plenty of laughs with one another.
Carole and Michael Middleton were also among those spotted in the Royal Box at Wimbledon this year.
