NEW DELHI: BJP MP Baijayant Panda has been appointed chairperson of the parliamentary select committee on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025, while BJP member Tejasvi Surya will head the select committee on the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat has also released the updated composition of 24 Parliamentary Standing Committees, which play a key role in legislative oversight and policy review. These panels, comprising members from both Houses, span critical sectors including commerce , defence, education, health and finance.
Among major committees, Nishikant Dubey continues as chairperson of the Communications and IT panel, while Shashi Tharoor retains External Affairs. Radha Mohan Singh chairs Defence, Basavaraj Bommai Labour, Textiles and Skill Development, and Bhartruhari Mahtab Finance. Charanjit Singh Channi heads Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Processing.
Kanimozhi Karunanidhi leads Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, while PC Mohan chairs Social Justice and Empowerment. Tiruchi Siva has Industry, Bhubaneswar Kalita Science and Technology, Environment and Climate Change, and Sanjay Kumar Jha Transport, Tourism and Culture.
Prof Ram Gopal Yadav chairs Health and Family Welfare, Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy chairs Housing and Urban Affairs, CM Ramesh Railways, and Rajiv Pratap Rudy Water Resources. Anurag Thakur, meanwhile, leads Coal, Mines and Steel.
