The indictment of Tyler Robinson, the suspected shooter of Charlie Kirk, detailed how he planned to take out the Conservative commentator, and how his plan was undone by one message from his father Matt Robinson. According to the document, Robinson;s mother showed his father the surveillance image of the suspected shooter that was in the news and that began the hunt.
Matt Robinson also felt that the rifle that the police suspected was used to kill Charlie Kirk matched with the rifle that they gifted to their son. Robinson's father contacted him and asked him to send a photo of the rifle, "Robinson did not respond. However, Robinson's father spoke on the phone with Robinson. Robinson implied that he planned to take his own life. Robinson's parents were able to convince him to meet at their home," the document said.
Robinson implied to them that he was the shooter but he could not go to jail. On being asked his motivation behind it, he said there was too much evil and Charlie Kirk spreads too much hate.
Robinson narrated what was happening to his boyfriend over text messages. He told Twiggs that he had to leave the gun at the spot and that he was panicking that if it had a serial number, it would be traced back to him. He also told Twiggs that he was not receiving his father's phone call, as he was asking for a photo of the rifle that actually belonged to Tyler's grandfather.
The document revealed that Robinson's mother called him first and asked him his whereabouts. Tyler told her that he was sick and at the house and he was sick on September 10 also. The mother alerted the father and said the photo looked like Tyler.
